Bible Study and Prayer Meeting
On Fridays we meet at 8 pm for Bible study and prayer at the church.
This meeting is usually led by the pastor and is fairly informal. We sit in a circle and interaction is encouraged. Teenagers as well as adults are welcome.
After the singing of a hymn and an opening prayer we study a Bible passage or read a Christian book. This lasts about 45 minutes.
If we are reading a book, people take it in turns to read a paragraph (although this is not compulsory!). Questions and comments are encouraged and many are made. We often read Bible passages to review and check what the author is saying.
We have recently read the following:
The Bible studies at the moment are on the Psalms. Sample sermons and Bible studies can be found here.
At around 8.45 pm we have a prayer meeting. The leader of the meeting will outline a number of matters to pray for and then those attending are encouraged to add to the list. We then have a time of open prayer during which anyone can pray out loud if they wish.
The meeting ends between 9.15 pm and 9.30 pm.
All are welcome to this meeting even if they do not attend the Sunday services.
